Last night it was back to local (and dry!) riding. Just Choc and I were on it and I decided to give the hardtail a spin. We did not far off the route we did on the 21st April but rode the main part of it in reverse.

At 6am on Saturday I was on the road heading to Ae Forest in Scotland for the first round of the Gravity Enduro race series. With a brief stop for breakfast in Penrith I arrived on site about 10.30. After months of dry weather it had chucked it down during the night and the camping field was muddy as I walked through it to sign on. It was going to be weird riding in the wet for the first time in months.
Things were surprisingly quiet and I joined the queue to sign on. Half an hour later and I had a number for my bike and a timing chip to stick to my helmet. No other instructions at this point - things were laid back.

Tuesday evening it was time for another two hour local ride. Parsley, Steve and I were on it. I decided to head out to do another of our local routes that we haven't done yet so far this year:Â via Hoby, Brooksby and Gaddesby.

The bank holiday weekend saw those of us that could make it meeting up in Bakewell for a couple of days riding and a couple of nights drinking to celebrate both Robbo and Nick making it to the milestone of 50 years of age. As it turned out we would also have another surprise to celebrate.....
