I have only ridden the down hill courses at Bringewood once before and it was chucking it down with rain then making it a mud bath. Last week's mid-week forecast was saying it was going to be similar this weekend so it's fair to say I wasn't looking forward to Sunday as much as I normally would.

Despite some last minute venue changing seven of us left Farnsfield earlier than the allotted 7pm start. Heading towards Bilsthorpe on the Southwell Trail couldn't have been easier! There was a very strong tail wind blowing us along. All of us were thinking and discussing the same thing: "it was going to be hell on the return"!

Two miles into the drive over to the usual Saturday afternoon ride a thought occured to me: "I don't remember putting Ricky's front wheel in the car when I picked him up...". I mentioned this to him and sure enough he had left it in his garage! Doh! :o

After missing a week I was back on the regular weekly night ride last night. Seven of us set off from Oxton at the usual time. The car thermometer said it was 1.5 degrees when we set off but as we turned into the wind out of the pub car park the wind chill must have knocked at least 5 degrees off that.
