Not everyone's cup of tea, but I am growing to love cross racing. It's an all out effort for less than an hour. Different to a TT, cos it's stop start. Easier to pace than a mtb race cos you don't really bother. Less tactical than a road race. Not the most tech courses but try it on a road bike at road bike speeds and suddenly it is scary.
Do as many laps as you can. Go!!

The British Series has been good, been to Sherwood, Dalby, Margham Wales, Inners Scotland, the New Forest and now Plymouth for the old World Cup course. Chris and I had to choose between a C reg Polo and a G reg Golf to get there. We went luxury and took the new one with the 2 second tent in the back.

Like I predicted, Sherwood always suits me. I won with a display of raw power and grace if ever you've seen it.

This venue last year was my first Elite podium and the first time I realised I could cut it in the category. It rained and I did well. After the weeks downpour I was hopeful of a repeat.

Innerleithen was the venue - obviously going to be steep ups and steep downs. It was doubled up with the DH and a lot of the"XC forum people" have been giving it abuse for reasons like XC was the side show, not enough spectators, commentator giving us abuse (like jip for shaving legs and wearing lycra). Not sure what these guys expect. What would you watch - the worlds best nation of DHers risking life and limb, or the worlds most average nation of XC riders doing 5mph up hill in lycra.
