I've just got back from a ten day trip to Spain. Some unusual impeccable timing saw us fly out just before volcanic ash ground the world to a halt and return just after everything was back to normal!

Liz and I stayed with Sierra Cycling. They are situated about 20 minutes transfer from Malaga airport and about 50 yards from the beach in Fuengirola. This combined with flights from East Midlands airport makes it pretty easy to head out for a long or short break.

Well what a weekend that was! :)

It all began on Friday afternoon with the "Skivers ride" from Oxton. Five of us enjoyed the frozen conditions around the woods but at about -4 we were glad to get back to the pub for a pint in front of the fire. After that the evening followed the usual format of several of Southwell's finest pubs followed by one of it's not so fine curry houses! It was the 20th Anniversary of the regular Saturday afternoon rides from Oxton on Saturday and there was a great turnout for the anniversary ride and "few light ales" after.
