Once out of town the plan was to do one of our regular routes that I've described before. As we were making good progress time wise by the time we were near Saxelbye I suggested an extension loop through Grimston out to near Old Dalby and back. Choc was dubious saying it would add 45 minutes on and we would be late back. I argued it would never take that long and we set off to do it.
The extra little loop is a cheeky one so I won't say exactly where it goes (locals will guess easy enough). It is a great little woodland descent which is flat out speed wise and with a little sting in the tail of a skinny footbridge over a stream. The fun then has to be paid back with regaining all the height lost on a farm track.
Everybody enjoyed the extension and it only took 25 minutes! After that we quickly got back to the pub where the beer flowed for longer than our usual post ride session. As it was a bank holiday the next day Baz decided to stay over and we stayed out late for a good few beers.
