The usual suspects in preventing mountain biking: work, holidays, home commitments etc this week altered our usual routine of local riding on Tuesday and Thursday and resulted in Ricky and I heading out on Wednesday evening instead.

With the weather forecast for the whole of last weekend being dismal I admit I wasn't my usual enthusiastic self when it came to getting a ride organised. However after a day of houshold chores on Saturday I had decided I was going to do a ride of some sort on Sunday whatever the weather.

We had a guest rider last night because Robbo decided he fancied a change. The two of us pedalled up to He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named's house where we all waited for Steve who was running a bit late. We  started off with the necessary tarmac to escape town and then picked up the bridleway behind Scalford Hall to begin.

Another Saturday afternoon ride and more new bikes! Looks like our lot are spending the country out of this recession? ;) Ricky was taking his new Boardman hardtail for it's maiden voyage and Jamie was having a shakedown ride on an Orange Alpine before taking it to the mountains it was designed for and named after.
