With the dry conditions I've reported in the last few diary entries I tempted fate by removing the Swamp things from my Commencal Furious on Friday night. I finally fitted the new High Roller that I bought for our trip to Morzine last August but which had yet to be used! On the drive down to Ludlow I knew fate had not been tempted! :) The sky was blue and the sun was out. Unbelievable for the UK in March!

Another Thursday = another night ride. This weeks starting point was The Fox and Hounds. Conditions were once again near perfect with the tempearture around 7 degrees and the trails dry but with enough moisture to keep them grippy.

Since the night ride on Thursday it had remained dry so instead of my usual hardtail I decided to take the new bike over to Oxton for Saturday's ride. The build of the bike is now complete with my new wheels arriving last week and also the adapter I needed to fit a 180 rotor on the rear arriving on Friday. I was looking forward to testing the final build on familiar trails :)

It has been a fairly dry week this week so last night we headed off from Rainworth to ride in Sherwood Pines. The initial pace was steady as we cruised along the tarmac covered old railway line of National Cycle Route 6 and onto the short section of fun singletrack in "The Desert" alongside it.

The last time I rode with Sheldon he broke his collarbone! I hadn't seen him for months and he has been back on the bike a while so it was good to hook up with him again. I took the free ride bike and we headed out to check out his local trails.
