Call it secret training if you want but when time is tight then a quick lap on the road is better than not turning a pedal!

With all the uplift days and other stuff I've been doing lately I had completely failed to take advantage of the great early spring weather to get some local riding done. So as the clocks had gone forward and the weather was forecast to take a turn for the worse on Wednesday I decided to get one in before the Leicestershire clay got wet again.

Saturday was another early start as I picked Parsley up at 6am for the drive down to Cwmcarn. We met up with Baz and Mad Dog at Morrisons cafe a few minutes from the venue for breakfast. The spring weather had continued and we were all looking forward to a day on a dry track.

With the continuing dry spell "The Committee" named this week's venue as The Woodlark. This meant the riding would be round the Nottinghamshire fields and bridleways instead of the singletrack of the woods. With this in mind I picked the Ibis to ride instead of my hardtail.
